Fort Yamagata (Representative Hidetoshi Tobitsuka) has donated 'Basho Oku no Hosomichi' photographs. In addition, extremely valuable documentary photos from the mid-Showa period taken by the late Takashi Shoji, a researcher of Oku no Hosomichi, will allow visitors to remember the landscapes of 'Oku no Hosomichi' that can no longer be seen today. Also, prints of Oku no Hosomichi by printmaker Akira Sakata will also be exhibited. We hope this exhibition helps in understanding Basho's journey.
