We will introduce the life and sensibility of Matsuo Basho, who elevated haikai from a linguistic game to an art form, as well as the literature, art, and travels of the Edo period that influenced him.
Please enjoy the culture and lifestyle of the Edo period, which will serve as clues to understanding Basho!
