● 8-minute walk from JR Yamadera Station.
● 15-20 minutes from JR Yamagata Station to Yamadera Station. 45-75 minutes from Sendai Station to Yamadera Station.
● Car: Approximately 20 minutes from Yamagata Expressway "Yamagata Kita IC".
● Yamako Bus: Take the "Yamadera (Basho Kinenkan-mae)" bound bus from Yamagata Station Bus Stop #2, get off at "Yamadera Basho Kinenkan-mae" and it's right there. Approximately 45 minutes travel time. Not operating on Saturdays and Sundays.
Directions from Yamadera Station (on foot, for winter)
Exit Yamadera Station and proceed. When you reach Yamadera Hotel directly in front of you, turn right.
You will soon come to a crossroads, turn right there.
Go under the JR Senzan Line overpass (see photo below) that you see ahead and continue straight.
The road ahead splits into a carriageway on the left and a pedestrian path on the right. If the pedestrian path is not cleared of snow, follow the carriageway uphill.
Along the way, take the path that turns right.
Climb up to the "Yamadera Basho Kinenkan" sign and turn right to reach the Yamadera Basho Kinenkan.
Directions from Yamadera Station (on foot, for spring, summer, and autumn)
Exit Yamadera Station and proceed. When you reach Yamadera Hotel directly in front of you, turn right.
You will soon come to a crossroads, turn right there.
Go under the JR Senzan Line overpass (see photo below) that you see ahead and continue straight.
The road ahead splits into a carriageway on the left and a pedestrian path on the right; take the pedestrian path on the right uphill.
(If coming by car, proceed along the left carriageway and turn right at the next road to arrive.)
Along the way, go up the stairs that turn right.
After climbing to the top of the stairs (see photo below), proceed left, and Yamadera Basho Kinenkan will be immediately on your left.
