The Maruyama Hasegawa family is an old family that has continued since the early Edo period, and is a representative merchant family of Yamagata, which prospered through safflower trade. They also have a deep knowledge of art, collecting masterpieces such as calligraphies and paintings, and some of their works have been donated to the Yamagata Museum of Art and our museum.
