Special Exhibition "O-Hina-sama Exhibition - Hina Dolls Passed Down in Yamagata"
Exhibition Period: February 20 (Fri) – April 6 (Mon), Reiwa 8
[Closed: Wednesdays (except March 25 and April 1)]
We will display Hina dolls passed down through old families in Yamagata and introduce the history and beauty of the Peach Festival, a traditional Japanese culture.
This exhibition will also feature the Yamagata Prefectural Designated Tangible Cultural Property "Safflower Folding Screen," which depicts the production and trade of safflower, the raw material for the crimson dye used in Hina doll costumes. Additionally, please enjoy numerous precious palace-style decorations, such as those from the National Registered Tangible Cultural Property Tanaka Family Residence, along with approximately 200 Hina dolls and seasonal decorations that have changed with the times.
